CORBIS IMAGE LIBRARY

Corbis provides you with access to thousands of images for your non-commercial/school work. This resource allows you to download images of varying resolutions (from low to high). Although you are limited to 50 high or medium-high resolution downloads per semester, there is no limit on the number of low resolution images.

Searching for Images

>>There are three ways to search for images in Corbis:

Selecting Images

To view a larger version, find out more information, or download an image simply click on its thumbnail. In a moment or two a pop-up window will appear. From this window you can choose to search for similar images using the keyword/ descriptors pick list, view a larger version of the image, or download an image.

If you choose to download the image, click on the resolution level you need and the image will be added to your folder. You can continue searching for images by using the keyword/ descriptors or clicking "close window" and starting a new search.

Downloading Images

Once you have selected all the images you need, you can go to your download folder by clicking the link in the upper right of the screen or from within an image pop-up window.

At this point you can remove any images from your folder if you'd like. Once you are sure you have all the images you want and want all the images you have:

Images will be sent to you as either a zip file (you will need winzip for windows or stuff-it for Mac). Once you received the file, you will need to uncompress it in order to see each individual image. Specify where on your computer you are saving the zipped file.

You can view your download history by clicking on the "Account" link at the top of the screen and then clicking on the "View Download History" link in the middle of the screen. Click on any of your past projects to see the images they contain.
